On Retirement

We strongly recommend that all members plan for retirement, using the resources available to us through Harvard.

Each person's decisions about retirement have to be based on the individual's own circumstances, resources, and hopes for the future.

One option we urge you to consider is setting up a Tax-Deferred Annuity, or TDA (the non-profit version of a 401k). There is detailed information on how these work in the Retirement section of HARVie and you can sign up on-line at the Harvard University Retirement Center (links below).

If you are hoping to retire soon, you can phone the University's Benefits Services Group at 617-496-4001 to request a pension estimate and to make an appointment to discuss options.
